Nothing too exciting, but here it is.

Excuse my not podcasting for a while but I’ve had a raspy voice since an operation I had a couple months ago. (Okay, that’s just my latest excuse, but work with me here!)
So I received JatP #1 in my October shipment, looked at the cover and instantly knew I’d hate it! But when I dug out all the number one comics that I’ve received in the last two months, this one sort of popped to the top and I figured I’d just get it out of the way. Much to my surprise, I did not hate it at all! I can not say that it’s now at the top of my list, but it was a fun story. It’s got lots of things that made me go”huh?” but the overall story was fun.
What had turned me off at first was the cover with it’s stiff manga style art, but when I opened it up, the art was much better. I checked and the cover artist is apparently the same artist that did the interior so my assumption is that she was trying for a more “serious” style of art (and to be fair, I am guessing that many people would prefer that type of art). Personally (as most of you are aware) i like “cartoony” art, so the interior worked well for me.
Okay, so it’s an “origin” story. Sets up the main characters (the Pussycats) as well as their antagonist (although it seems as if we’re supposed to know her already?). Story moves along pretty well in it’s 20 pages. Wait! Did I say 20 pages?! Yep. There is a 5 page backup which I assume is the original “origin” story, and at least we get a feel for the antagonist, but for $3.99 I’d like to see a few more new pages? There’s also 5 pages of adds…
So the story is good, the art is good, the price is too high. I’ll give it a 3/5.
Forgot to post the other day, but here it is!
I Hope you enjoy this even a fraction of how much I love opening that box!
AND! I’ve even read one of the books since I posted this! Crazy, right?!
Feeling guilty for not uploading a ‘cast lately, for reasons I explain herein. And I talk about what I should be talking about! (Although less comic talk than TV talk!)
I’ll tell you up front, I must say, “I’m way behind on this comic” about a dozen times. Sorry!
